Nigerian menswear label Orange Culture recently showed it’s men’s spring summer 2014 collection at the Lagos Fashion & Design Week. The collection was inspired by the designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal’s ethnic roots and contemporary sports aesthetics in menswear. Loads of oversize shapes and layering were present in the collection as well as a man skirt in an almost gaudy blue - in menswear tastes- which attained formality with its long shirts.
The shirting from the collection was influenced by traditional Nigerian shirts worn by chiefs and elders usually over African print fabric wrapped like a skirt around the waist. To buy bits from the collection, head to orange-culture.com
